DV Lottery 2011, Printing The Confirmation.
2010 Diversity Visa Lottery Program Registration.
October 8, 2008.
The congressionally mandated Diversity Immigrant Visa Program is administered on an annual basis by the Department of State and provides for a class of immigrants known as "diversity immigrants." Up to 55,000 permanent resident visas are given out annually to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. Last year, 62 Mauritians were awarded Diversity Visas. Again this year Mauritians are eligible to apply for visas under this program. Lottery winners are notified by mail and process their applications through the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. The Embassy in Port Louis does not process any type of immigrant visa.
DV 2009 Announcement for the Mauritius people from the US Embassy.
As per the announcement DV Lottery 2009 allows eligible Mauritius people to participate in the programe by submitting entries online in the 60 days period between Wednesday, October 3, 2007 and Sunday, December 2, 2007.
Further more they said that there have been instances of fraudulent websites posing as official U.S. Government sites. Some companies posing as the U.S. Government have sought money in order to "complete" lottery entry forms. There is no charge to download and complete the Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form.
The Department of State notifies successful Diversity Visa applicants by letter, and NOT by email.
Winners of the DV Lottery from Mauritius will have their applications processed at the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya and will eventually have to travel there with every member of their immediate family for the medical examinations and interviews with the Consular Officer.
