DV 2009 Green Card lottery Eligibility.
You must be a Native of an Eligible country.
Native of a Country means, the country in which you were born. Anyway, if you were born in a Country which is not eligible for the DV 2009 Green Card Lottery, you can claim native country Of your parents or spouse
To Claim native country through your parents Countries (if your birth country is not an eligible country) You may claim your parent's country of birth as your native country, if one of your parent was born or resident in a DV 2009 eligible country, at the time of your birth when you were born.
To Claim native country through your spouse Country. (if your birth country is not an eligible country)
You may claim your spouse's birth Country as your native country by proving your spouse was born in an eligible country. If any of you win the lottery, and the winner have educational or work qualification you and your spouse must obtain visas and can enter the U.S.A
Following are the Countries which are not eligible to participate in the DV 2009 Green Card lottery. Because they are sending more than the 50,000 visa holding people in the last 5 years, As the other Countries are eligible, as they are with less immigration to the America.
BRAZIL, CANADA, CHINA (mainland-born), COLOMBIA, DOMINICAN, REPUBLIC,
EL SALVADOR, HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PHILIPPINES, PERU, POLAND, RUSSIA, SOUTH KOREA, UNITED KINGDOM, (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and VIETNAM. People who are born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan are eligible to participate in this DV 2009 Green Card lottery.
Education or Work Experience Requirement.
It is recommended by the USA, DOS, if you do not have this qualification, not to enter the DV 2009 green Card lottery.
To participate in the Diversity Visa Program, you must satisfy either the education or the work experience requirement by the DOS.
They are
1.You must have successfully Completed 12 years of Elementary and Secondary Education in USA or in other country, comparable to a high school education in the United States.
And Or
Must Have two years of work experience within the last 5 years in an occupation Listed in the Department of labour as Job Zone 4 or 5, classified in a Specific Vocational Preparation (SVP) range of 7.0 or Higher to apply for this DV-2008 Green card lottery. No need to submit any work experience in the form when applying for the DV lottery.
