DV Lottery entries can be submitted by eligible people who are living or staying or studying legally in USA.
If they win they can change their current status to LPR by contacting the Bureau of Citizenship and
Immigration Services for information on the requirements and procedures.
To apply for the DV Lottery the person
Must be from an eligible country as per the eligible country list issued by the US State department.
Must have Successfully completed 12 years of education including elementary and secondary education; OR
two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation requiring at least two years of training
or experience to perform. The U.S. Department of Labor’s O*Net Online database will be used to determine
qualifying work experience.
If a person is married must include spouse, all the unmarried children who are under the age 21 along with
their individual photographs.
Applying for the Lottery,
You can apply from USA or any other country.
You or some one else can apply for you.
Only one entry can be applied with a person name as primary applicant. If multiple entries are made with a
person name all entries will be rejected regardless of who submitted them.
it is free to enter your entry in the one and only American Government web site in the application accepting
period. No paper entries will not be accepted.
Winning the lottery does not guarantee you a visa but will give you a chance to apply for the visa. You will have
to pay a non refundable visa and immigration processing fee. (Around US$ 755 and must pay for each family member too).
The visa fee should be paid at the Embassy ONLY on the day of interview. Don't pay money through Bank or
any other Money transfer institutions.
If you are born in any of the following countries, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DV
LOTERY.
BRAZIL, CANADA, CHINA, COLOMBIA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, ECUADOR, EL SALVADOR,
GUATEMALA, HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PHILIPPINES, PERU, POLAND, RUSSIA,
SOUTH KOREA, UNITED KINGDOM and its dependent territories, and VIETNAM.
Persons born in Northern Ireland, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan are eligible.
When to apply
It will be normaly for a 60 days period between October to January.

How winners will be announced?
Winners who are selected by the computer draw will be notified with further instructions by KCC to the winners
address as in the entry by regular postal mail between May and July.
Winners will not be announced by E-mail or Telephone.
Those who are not selected will not receive any notifications.
