DV 2011 Lottery for Sri Lanka.

DV 2011 Visa lottery program allows Sri Lanka born people to apply for the program even if they are living abroad. DV2011 program is a simple program covered by strict rules. One person can apply only one entry as primary applicant with his name.

As Sri Lanka born people are eligible to participate in this DV 2010 Lottery, the program may allow 600 - 900 visas out of the 50,000 PR visas which are going to be issued worldwide.

According to the US embassy in Sri Lanka, those Sri Lankan people who want to participate (living abroad too can send their entries through E-DV) must have Six passes in GCE examination including the compulsory subjects or must have 2 years of work experience within the past five years in a profession that requires at lest two years of training or experience to perform it.

The Department of State Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky, will notify the lottery winners by mail (NOT by phone) between May and July, 2010, If they qualify, they will have to proof their eligibility at the time of the interview in the US consular office by paying a non refundable visa fee of US$ 755. The visa fee can be paid in US$ or local currency to the consular office in the form of bank draft drawn in favor of the US Consular office.

For the Srilanka applicants the consular office will obtain the police clearance and the educational certificates from the departments once the requirement is submitted by the applicant and the token must be given to the consular office.

Under the Diversity Visa lottery program DV 2008, 318 cases are qualified for immigrant visa interviews.

For the dv 2010, nearly 792 visas are reserved for the Sri Lankans.
