DV Lottery information for the Sierra Leone people.
If you are from Sierra Leone and want to participate in the DV Lottery which issues visas to the eligible winners who are selected by the computer random draw each year, you must enter to the program in the required 60 days period through the American Government’s official web site.
This is a free to apply program.
The winners will not be guaranteed a visa but will be allowed to apply for it.
The winners will face the interview by paying a non refundable visa fee of US$ 755 on the day of the interview
at the Embassy. Don't pay any money to any persons other than the Embassy. The visa fee will not be
refunded even if the visa is refused.
To apply for this program you must be born in an eligible country.(Sierra Leone, is an eligible country).
Even if you are living in another country you can apply for it.
You must be more than 18 years old as per the education eligibility.
Necessary education/work qualification
A WASSCE or GCE O level results with five credits or better, including one credit in English.
Or
Two years of qualifying work experience in a U.S. Department of Labor designated field. Check
www.online.onetcenter.org to see if your job qualifies. Occupations must fall into Zone 4 or higher to qualify.
Do not apply for the DV if you don’t have the required education or two years of relevant work experience.
A person can apply only one entry in a year program.
If applied more than once all the entries will be disqualified.
You don't need to be a married person to apply for this program. Making false marriages will disqualify you
permanently from getting a USA visa for life.
If Married person applying for this lottery MUST include details and individual image files of spouse and all the
unmarried children who are under the age of 21. Failure to do so will disqualify you from the program.
You must upload a digital image with your entry according to the requirements.
Failure to do so will disqualify you from the program.
You will be requested to find a person in the USA to submit an affidavit of support to sponsor you.
If you are a winner you will be informed by normal postal mail to your address.
E-mail or phone or fax will not be used to announce the winner.
Do not make travel plans until your visa is issued.
Take Note that the Sierra Leone Diversity immigrant visa applications are processed by U.S. Embassy in Abidjan.
