DV Lottery for Japan.
Japan is one of the eligible countries to participate in the DV lottery program which is operated officially by the U.S Government. So those who were born in Japan can apply for this American visa by lottery program, if they meet either education or work experience or both of them. Those who are living in foreign countries too can apply if they were born in Japan. Specially Japan born people in the U.S.A with a valid visa can apply for this visa lottery and if they are selected for the DV lottery, they can proof their eligibility and if it is accepted then they will be allowed to change their current U.S status to LPR through the USCIS office. The U.S status changing process by the DV lottery winner must be carried out before the DV lottery program officially close on 30th September.
Diversity Immigrant Visa Lottery Program DV 2012 is the next diversity visa lottery program which is also popularly known as Green Card lottery program will accept entries this year 2010.
Applications will be accepted for the U.S. Diversity Immigrant Visa Program only through the American Government's official web site. This Congressionally mandated program makes available 50,000 permanent resident visas annually, drawn from random computer selection among all entries to persons who meet strict eligibility requirements from countries including Japan, with low rates of immigration to the United States.
All applications must be received during the application period, and applicants are encouraged to apply early. The U.S. Department of State has established a dedicated website for the submission of e-DV entries, www.dvlottery.state.gov.
Entrants are able to check the status of their entry online. In the case of successful registration, entrants will be shown a printable confirmation in their computer screen containing the applicant's name and confirmation number. The confirmation page information can be used to check their selection status for the DV Lottery in the coming year.
All selected entrants will be notified by normal postal mail of their successful selection, but only those entrants who are selected for the program will get their notifications. The e-DV website also offers a "photo validate" program where entrants can use to test their photographs for checking before submission with their entries. As in the past, no fee is charged to enter the e-DV program.
For the DV Lottery, Japanese citizens are eligible to apply for the lottery from any where in the world.
