DV Lottery Confirmation.
DV lottery Confirmation will be shown in your PC or Laptop screen, once your duly filled E-DV entry along with the image file is accepted in to the visa lottery system. The confirmation is officially sent by the U.S. State Department stating that an entry has been successfully entered in to the DV lottery system. The confirmation page will contain your full name, the unique confirmation number and the day, date, year and the time when the entry was accepted by the system. The confirmation code will have 16 digits of alphanumeric in it. If you missed one of it, it won't work.
For the DV 2013 the confirmation will start with 2013
For the DV-2012 it will start with 2012
For the DV 2011 it will start with 2011
In the year 2009 for the first time the KCC did allowed the applicant's to check their status online to see their status to check whether they were selected for further processing or not in the US visa lottery program. Now the facility is available continuously in the other fiscal year DV Lottery programs too and from DV 2012 it was made compulsory as there will be no more postal notifications from the KCC.
So what to do with the confirmation code?
If it is possible write down your confirmation code in a paper and keep it in a safe place.
Or save it in your computer.
Or make a print out of it and keep it in a safe place or do all the above three if you have time.
How to save the confirmation?
Click the "File" in the browser's top left corner.
There click on the "Save As" (A box will open)
There select where you want to save the file and give a name for the file and click "Save".
Once you saved the page in your computer, it won't look like as was in the browser, when you look at it after you saving it.
If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can give print order to make a PDF file of your confirmation code.
How to Print the Confirmation?
To make a print out of the confirmation do the following things.
Start your printer.
Make ready of your printer and keep it with the A 4 size papers before applying for the lottery.
Once you got the confirmation,
Click the "File" in the browser's top left corner.
There click on the "Print"
A box will show, there select your printer and press the "Print" button.
The confirmation will come out from the printer as a print out.
So keep it careful. It can't be recovered or reissued by the KCC.
If you missed it you won't be able to check your status online, in the coming year.
I lost my confirmation number, how will I know whether I am selected or not?
From the fiscal year program 2012, DV-2012 you are out of the diversity visa lottery program which is also called as Green card lottery.
KCC will not re-issue your DV confirmation code if you had lost it.
